We advise booking flights that arrive in Sofia around lunchtime, this gives you enough time to settle into the chalet and then head to the ski shop to get kitted up so that you are ready to go on your first day of skiing and avoids any last minute rushing.
How to Get to Bansko from Sofia Airport?
Our Saturday to Saturday guests have shared airport transfers included in the cost of their holiday but if you would rather make your own way to Bansko, here are your options:
Airport Transfers
Private airport transfers are available for all group sizes and you will be met at the airport and driven straight to Bansko.
Shuttle Buses
There are shuttle bus options that go between Bansko and Sofia airport with Traventuria and Holiday Extras. These are usually at set times and are shared with other travellers but are a great cost effective options for individuals or couples.
Train
The train is the scenic but lengthy option! The trip takes over 6 hours and involves a change onto a narrow gauge train to complete the journey to Bansko but it can be combined with a stopover in one of the high mountain spa villages that the train passes through. It's also a great option as a standalone day trip from Bansko.
